Art from Scrap
ScrapFest is a vibrant celebration of art, creativity, and sustainability. This unique festival brings together artists who transform scrap metal into stunning sculptures and functional art pieces, showcasing the potential of recycled materials. Held annually, ScrapFest also features live music, local vendors, and interactive activities, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for all ages. It highlights the importance of environmental stewardship while promoting the artistic spirit of the Lansing community, making it a must-visit event for art enthusiasts and eco-conscious individuals alike.
Stop Motion Metal
For the ScrapFest promotional video, I took a creative approach by incorporating actual scrap materials into a dynamic stop-motion treatment. Using pieces of scrap metal, I animated them frame by frame, bringing the raw materials to life in a way that mirrored the spirit of the festival. This technique not only captured the essence of ScrapFest’s focus on upcycling and creativity but also made the video visually engaging and distinctive. The blend of real-world materials and stop-motion animation helped to create a unique, handcrafted feel that resonated with the festival’s artistic and sustainable values.
